Thames will be buzzing with the Steampunk festival in under 3 weeks, so spread the word if you have friends in town that we have a fantastic double bill for them at Kauaeranga Hall. I’m super excited to host Wilkie Mac and Penni Feather.

With a mix of English, Celtic and contemporary folk and their original songs, WilkieMac and Penni Feather play separately and together on their double-bill tour.

Penni's songs range from trad folk and acoustic blues, to her originals in a contemporary folk style. Her recent sets have included a number of folk protest songs that speak to today's issues. With soulful vocals - and a sometimes irreverent stage presence - Penni's sets have songs to move, inspire and beguile.

WilkieMac craft their arrangements to create a multi-instrumental landscape for their Celtic, contemporary and original songs. Michael provides the solid backdrop on guitar, while Lynne brings a varied soundscape into the mix with flutes, whistles, guilele, harmonicas, and guitar . From beautiful melodies to songs with rousing sing-along choruses, every song chosen by the duo has a story behind it.

With the two acts combining forces for many of each others' songs, instrumental variety and  harmonies are guaranteed!
